Where in Craftsu You Can Place Links to Your Etsy Store or Other Domain

Craftsu provides several areas you can add links to your Etsy store or other domains from:

1. Your profile. You can add a URL / website in the profile area under Website. If you have more than one site, you can add the linking text in the other areas about you.

2. When uploading photos. Did you see a small dialog box pop up when you were uploading photos that asked for Title, Description and Tags?

In the photo Title area, you can describe your image and if each piece has its own name, it can go in the Title

In the photo Description area, you can use more text including a hyperlink such as www.yourdomain.com. However, I would suggest that instead of using the link text as www.yourdomain.com use a phrase that people are more likely to type in search engine queries. Maybe handmade gifts or last minute gift ideas or other phrases appropriate for your specific art or craft.

You can also add a "buy now" link using code like in this example:

3. When blogging. You can insert link text the same way I just mentioned. The blog tool here at Craftsu is so easy to use, it's a great way to get more prominence for yourself and your craft. Each post rolls down as new posts are added. But old posts are archived as permanent pages so your links, photos and text can still be picked up by search engines.

4. In discussion forums. Introduce yourself in the forum and include links to your other websites. Be sure to tell your story. Our stories are the most effective marketing communications we can make.

If you aren't sure what keywords and phrases to use in your link text and your content, there are some free research tools available, like the Adwords Keyword tool at Adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal and Keyworddiscovery.com or the paid Wordtracker Keyword service I personally use and recommend. These tools will tell you what phrases people actually search with.

Be sure to use a variety of phrases as you build content and create links so that Google doesn't tag you as trying to artificially affect search engine results. By controlling your inbound link text in what appears as natural to the search engines, you get to influence the incoming links coming to your site and boost your rankings in the search engines.
